Our Story
Healthcare in China, Made Simple for You
Sinocare was founded by expats who experienced first-hand how daunting it can be to navigate a foreign healthcare system. We built the service we wished had existed.
Why Sinocare Exists
In 2018, our founder Sarah Chen arrived in Chengdu for a two-year work assignment. Within her first month, she needed to see a specialist for a recurring condition. What followed was three weeks of confusion — wrong hospitals, untranslated paperwork, missed appointments, and a bill she couldn't decipher.
That experience was the seed of Sinocare. Sarah partnered with James Whitfield, a British healthcare consultant who had spent a decade working with Chinese hospitals, and Mei Lin, a Chengdu-born medical interpreter with 12 years of experience. Together, they built a concierge service that removes every barrier between a foreign patient and the care they need.
Today, Sinocare has helped over 2,000 patients from more than 40 countries access healthcare in Chengdu — from routine check-ups to complex specialist consultations, dental care, traditional Chinese medicine, and emergency support.

What Drives Us
Our Mission
To make world-class healthcare in Chengdu accessible, understandable, and stress-free for every international patient — regardless of language, insurance, or familiarity with the Chinese medical system.

We translate not just language, but systems. You always know what's happening, what it costs, and what comes next.
Advocacy
We are your voice in the room. We ensure your concerns are heard, your questions are answered, and your preferences are respected.
Trust
We only recommend facilities and practitioners we have personally vetted. We have no financial relationships with any hospital or clinic.
